Well I've been pretty buisy all week working on my boat after work but it looks as though I've done nothing to it.

What I've been doing is filling literally hundreds of little screw holes with thickened epoxy and I still have a bunch more to do, (they keep multiplying)  I am also doing small repairs to the Keel as well.

As soon as I have somthing to show it will be here I will keep you up to date.

Well It's been an uneventfull week, I was sick most of it, so I didn't get much done till sat.I got all the holes epoxyed and mostly sanded just a little more sanding to go then I apply my CPES to protect my keel. Then finally maybe begin installing my floor, bulkheads, and decks.

I will keep you posted...

Ok  I just got back from vacation, family came into town, went out of town with them for a bit ,and tried to work on my boat a little, but I would set up and it would rain then I would tear it down etc.etc, So I decided to try to build a portable car port,er...boatshed, I wanted to go cheap so I used pvc pipe, I cut all my parts and glued all of my fittings in place, then began assembly and found out why I should not have used pvc pipe, but galvanised pipe.

It was an engeneering disaster it couldn't support a tarp as it couldn't support itself so I choose to look at it on the bright side, I have my in ground sprinkler system I've been wanting,

I gave up and ordered me one all ready to go for about as much as it cost me to purchase my sprinkler system. Got some sanding and fairing done on my keel today Its looking better and better all the time,

More later, Brian.

Well I  got my Boatshead up and running this weekend, I think I got all of my keel sanding done as well this evening, All thats left is to treat it with CPES. Ya know I think I've learnrd a good lesson about cleaning up spills and adhesives before they cure 'cuz they're  a bear to sand after they cure.I did sand a little more than I probubly had to but I wanted to get as much epoxy off the wood as possable  because I want the CPES to penetrate as much as possable.well heres the boatshead and well sanded keel this evening...

 More later.

Allright well I finnaly did it I drilled my holes for my bolts 45 of them, Then widened them for the washers, then I coated each hole liberally with cpes,Then I  rolled the whole keel top, bottom, left and right sides, I had enough for two coats, And learned why when using mass quantities of solvents or epoxy one should really consider purchasing a respirator mask. After a couple of hours of coating/breathing with cpes I was feelin' pretty bad I kinda felt like this Guy looks...

Any way, this morning while the epoxy was still kind of wet I threded the bolts into the holes, Added the washers and nuts, Then tightened them down I will wait till the cpes is fully cured before I fill these holes with thickened epoxy. Heres a couple of pic's showing where I am at on my project, It doesn't look like much but I will be installing my floor, bulkheads, and transom by this coming weekend.

Ok thats all fer now, more later, Brian.

Well It's been a pretty uneventfull weekend,  unfortunately I was hoping to get alot done this weekend but I ran out of epoxy, I ordered some last tue. but  it has not arrived yet. So I filled a few holes with what epoxy I had left, cut most of my stringers out, and checked  my front porch out about a million and a half times to see if My epoxy had come yet,  But To no avail.

Any way heres a couple pic's of my floor test fit...

Thats all for now more to come. Brian.

Ok, well I've been buisy this week, I cut all my stringers and joiners, I deviated   from the plans a bit and cut my joiners from a sheet of 3/4" ply, and used 1" screws instead of 1.1/4 " It seemes to have worked out ok,  The pic is gonna look alot like the test fit pic's but believe me theres alotta work inbetween.  I got my floor attatched to my keel, it acctually took quite awhile to do by myself sat. and sun. Now maybe I can get my stringers, and at least transom on after work this week Before I go to the nickajack messabout next weekend.  Heres a couple of pic's so far ...

Thats all for now I am beat more to come

Brian.

Well its been a quiet week, I did not get to attend the Lake Nickajack messabout but I did get a few things on my boat done, I installed my floor stringers...

I also Test fitted my transom to see how she fares , looks good ...

Thats all for this week, I will be attatching my transom and possably the rest of my bulkheads this week

More to come...

 Brian.

Well it's been another week did not get a whole lot done this week (life comes at ya fast.) Then on Saturday I thought that I would get a bunch done, Got all set up to clamp my transom in place and then opted to go rest up and did nothing else all day (on the boat that is). Sunday morning came early, and I went out and  clamped, Epoxyed, and Screwed my transom in place, It took quite alot of clamping pressure to make the wood bend  to the floor curve but I made it...

Notice the piece of railroad track I used as the brace for the 2x6".

Then I cut out the holes on the front Bulkhead, and then I measured, and cut out the stringer notches on both the Cabin Bulkhead and the Forward Bulkhead and test fitted them....

So far so good. I am going to try to get all the small stuff done on the bulkheads and Decks this week, and hopefully get  the decks together next weekend.

Thats all for now more later

                                                Brian.

Well didn't get much done last week hence no post, But I did get some done this week, I wanted to get my decks assembled this week but found there is still a bunch of small stuff to do, So I began making small gussets and stringers so when I do assemble the decks I can install them right off, I also built the top transom stringer and attached it to the transom using a jig I made, and alot of clamps ,glue, and screws.Heres some pic's...

Well thats it for this week more to follow...

Brian.

Awlright!  I've been buisy this weekend, Yesterday I installed all my pannel joiners on to my deck, And today I have been installing the deck stringers, and I have to tell ya'  It's some fun bending those things all around the perimiter of the deck. I had one break and it sounded like a gun going off (kinda made me jump)   Any way I got 3/4's of the stringers on the deck today, one more 12 footer to go, I may tackle that Tomorow evening after work. I dont have much in the picture department but heres a couple pic's, One where I fit the pieces together, and one thats just to dark . I will have to get some taken in the light ...

Thats all for now, I will get some better pictures this week and finish the stringers as well.

  Brian.

OK well here's a couple more pic's in the daylight of the deck assembly...

Wooo hooo now I hafta get it on the boat (should be interesting!)

Well I got the thing on the boat but I have alot of lining up to do here are some pic's...

Well thats all for now more later when I figure this mess out.

Brian.

Hello again, Well not alot to report on this week, I got some things done though, I cut some slots for the deck to fit into, and did a little triming up, I have the deck clamped into place and I think I am about ready to begin screwing the deck down onto the bulkheads, You can't be too carefull when lining the deck, bulkheads, and keel up, I only have a couple photos this week and not really showing to much, But here they are for what they are worth...

Well, I suppose ones good enough for now, not really much to show, but there should be more sunday evening.

     Brian.

                   See You then

OK, OK, I know, I didn't get enough done this week end, But Sat. was out, too many obligations, fix Wifes car, entertain friends,etc.etc.etc.

But today I made some progress, Not alot but some, First off I built walls on my portable car por../Err... Boatshed , And then I made some small adjustments to my deck, and bulkheads to make everything fit, And the reason it took so long was that my friends gave me some good advise for taking care of my non allighnment problems, Which in the end I wound up doing, I just had to measure it alot and have it make sense (sink in) before I made my cuts, Once I did this everything lined right up into place, like it was meant to do that or something, ('Majun that). I did not take any photos, as it looks pretty much like the photos above, everything just lines up a whole lot better, So this week I shall be working on screwing everything down into place and maybe by next weekend I can get started on my mast box and such, And who knows maybe even get started on my sides?...  .

Well, if I get anything significant accomplished during the week, I will be sure to post it here.

   Till Next Time

  Brian.

Ok well, I havent really done too much to my boat in a while, Holladays and such, but I resumed working on the boat as of last weekend, I totally redid the walls on my makeshift boat shead so that it is fully enclosed, I got a Propane heater from Santa for Christmas, which heats the whole place up nice (When it's cold).   I also permenently attached my deck to the stem and bulkheads, and I have cut the stringers for the cockpit backpannel, Next is to cut and attach the pannel.

I'm not to far from the sides, I just have to make the mast box and attach it to the front bulkhead, and install the bits I am not going to trim my bits down I am going to leave them the same size and attach them as suggested by Keith Mclean. Then it's on to putting on the sides  I dont have any recent photos of my build but I will take some this week and post them, Thats all for now.
